Graduate students
I encourage current graduate students to reach out to discuss potential projects and fellowship opportunities through ANID (deadline typically in November). I also welcome inquiries from prospective graduate students on our program (deadline usually in July).
Postdoctoral research
Postdoctoral positions
Researchers with experience or interest in galactic archaeology, stellar populations, resolved star spectroscopy and photometry, or Local Group survey science are welcome to inquire about applying for fellowship opportunities, including the Fondecyt Postdoctoral Fellowship (for Chilean nationals with awarded PhDs, deadline in September) and ESO Comité Mixto postdoctoral funds (deadline typically in July).
Undergraduate research
Undergraduate students
I am not currently taking students for summer 2026-2027, but I welcome inquiries from students interested in independent research during fall semester in 2027.
Currently mentored students:
- Douglas Grion Filho (graduate student at UC Santa Cruz). I am co-advising Doug on a project on the resolved stellar kinematics of M31's disk, based on a recent southern extension of Keck/DEIMOS SPLASH survey data (paper submitted).
- Jordan Forman (graduate student at UC Santa Cruz). I am co-advising Jordan on a project on resolved stellar spectroscopy in the outskirts of M33's disk, based on TREX survey data (paper in preparation).
- Sara Morrisey (graduate student at the University of Notre Dame). I will be co-advising Sara on her thesis work using Subaru/Prime Focus Spectrograph (PFS) data in the stellar halo of M31.
